The Shimano NASCI Spinning Reel is an exciting, new, powerful spinning reel with unparalleled gear durability at its price point. Featuring Shimano’s HGN gearing and X-Ship technology for improved power, functioning and durability, the NASCI also comes equipped with an upgraded drag system. Shimano’s new Coreprotect technology greatly improves water-resistance and corrosion protection as well, while the NASCI’s G Free Body design positions the oscillation gear and the reel’s center of gravity closer to rod, greatly reducing fatigue while fishing. A great choice for everything from light freshwater to medium saltwater applications, the Shimano NASCI Spinning Reel is loaded with features and performance.

CoreProtect
CoreProtect prevents water entering the body, from under the rotor at the front of the body, and also into the Roller Bearing unit.

Hagane Body
The HAGANE Body is produced from highrigidity aluminium or magnesium. This creates stiffness and impact resistance, while at the same time eliminating flexing of the body. The result is a rocksolid housing and support for the moving internal gearing and greater efficiency throughout the reel.

Hagane Gear
The HAGANE Drive Gear is produced by Shimano’s coldforging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a longlasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.

More than just a support bearing, X-Ship is a combination of a cold forged main gear married with a brass drive gear. The two metals don't eat away at each other, providing longer lasting performance, as well as a smoother, more powerful retrieve.
