The Miravel is the lowest priced model in the popular Magnumlite Series. The reduced overall weight, combined with lightweight rotational feel is perfect for anglers wanting advanced performance combined with excellent affordability.
The understated appearance of the Miravel will fill you with confidence. The elegant design belies its affordability and will seamlessly combine with any Shimano rod, creating the perfect harmony of lightness and balance. And the sophisticated performance will really appeal if you are a technical angler who appreciateslightness of weight and lightness of rotation. As part of the Magnumlite Series, you can be sure that the Miravel is packed with advanced technology to make your fishing more efficient and enjoyable.
Featuring CI4+ composite throughout its construction, the Miravelhas a G-FREE Body that is remarkably light and well balanced, even in the larger sizes. And like all Magnumlite reels, the lightness of rotation almost defies logic, with only minimal pressure required to set the rotor moving. This makes it the perfect reel for advanced lure fishing, especially when combined with the latest lightweight rods.
Internally, Shimano's provengear technology works seamlessly to deliver power and smoothness in equal measures. The famous HAGANE GEAR, X-SHIP combination is enhanced with Silent Drive and the screw in handle gives an almost unnatural directness. In use the reel casts like a dream thanks to the superb line lay and AR-C spool, and the water resistant front drag can be totally relied upon in the most demanding of situations.
A wide range of models are available, ensuring there’s a choice to suit your preference. From the smallest 1000, up to the largest 5000 size, you will also find extra fast gear options to give you extra speed when required. And whilst the Miravel has undoubted pedigree, the most remarkable characteristic is its affordability, which opens up lightweight performance to a completely new audience.

Shimano reel features
Shimano AR-C Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. AR-C spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid.
CI4 stands for Carbon Interfusion with the 4 referring to the number of electrons in the Carbon atom. Ultimately, this means CI4 is reinforced Carbon Fiber. The new CI4+ is the next generation of Shimano's CI4 material and 250% stronger. It is over one and a half times stronger than Shimano's normal XT-7 graphite and is over 20% lighter. Because it does not contain metal, it is also impervious to rust. So, as a result of its strength and weight, it allows Shimano to create an extremely lightweight reel with very precise tolerances.
These spools provide increased strength and durability over diecast aluminum or graphite spools.
Diecast aluminium is used for many types of reel and is most common on fixed spool reel bodies and rotors. It is also used for spools on P4 fixed spool reels and come baitcasting models.
This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing, Shimano is able to redistribute the rotor weight to create smooth rotation and eliminate vibrations caused by the reel.
Easy Maintenance is a small oil lubrication port that enables direct lubrication of the inner workings of a reel with approved Shimano lubricant. Some highend Shimano reels have a line roller lubrication option.
A secondary drag system used on some rear drag reels. Fightin’ Drag enables the easy adjustment of the drag setting whilst playing the fish.
The HAGANE Drive Gear is produced by Shimano’s coldforging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a longlasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.
The precision engineered main Hypergear transmits more power from the handle to the rotor. Designed to exacting tolerances, it requires less effort but returns more retrieve playing torque with vastly reduced component wear.
The special grooved design of the Shimano Power Roller significantly reduces line twist and is a big advantage when using thin mono and braid.

The latest generation of the Super Stopper. It uses a one-way, stainless steel roller bearing that eliminates backplay. This provides the angler with instant hooksetting power.
Varispeed and the latest version called VariSpeed II oscillation system moves with two variable speeds to lay the line flat and smooth onto the spool. This provides trouble-free, longer distant casts.
